The below table compares A19 LED bulbs. A19 bulbs are what most think of when they think of the Edison incandescent light bulb. The key to picking the best light bulb is to ensure it meets your needs for lumen output (the amount of light it produces), aesthetics (how it looks), and color temperature (color of light). All bulbs are LED Energy Star rated:
Solatube Smart LED
The Solatube Smart LED is a Solatube with the addition of LEDs to enable you to light a space at night. There are twop options: primary LED or primary LED w/ secondary system (another set of LEDs) depending on how much light is required. A Daylight Sensor continually monitors light levels within the tube and activates the LEDs when light levels reach a minimum threshold. It also deactivates the LEDs when sufficient daylight is present. There's even an option for a daylight dimmer in case it's too bright during the day!
Solatube
Solatube is a natural daylighting system that uses the sun's light to light the interior of your home. For obvious reasons, the Solatube does not produce light at night. To do that, you would need the Solatube Smart LED.

What is Color Temperature?
Put simply, color temperature is the color of light that comes out of a light bulb. It is given on the product packaging as a number with the units of Kelvin, K. The lower the number, the more red or orange (usually defined as warm) the light appears and the higher the number the bluer the light appears (usually defined as cool).
Energy Star CFL and LED Light Bulbs
Energy Star is a joint program of the U.S. EPA and Department of Energy. A product with the Energy Star label means that the product has met the minimum set of requirements set forth by the program. Just because a product has the Energy Star label doesn't mean it is a good product, it just means that the product is probably more energy efficient that similar products without the label and that the manufacturers have gone through the process of meeting Energy Star requirements.
Mapawatt will only recommend light bulbs with the Energy Star label.

Insignia is the house brand of Best Buy. The LEDs used in the bulb are manufactured by Cree, one of the most reputable names in the LED business. The Insignia LED brand uses Cree LEDs to produce 800 Lumens in the 13-Watt version and 450 Lumens in the 9-Watt version.
